Seattle Personal Trainer | Crossfit Coach – Joe Bauer
Seattle Personal Trainer and Crossfit Coach Joe Bauer been personal training for over 12 years. His interest in fitness started while playing baseball at Lower Columbia College. At that time he couldn’t get enough fitness information – so he self studied his way to being the go-to source for fitness info will all of his teammates. After spending two years in junior college, and reading everything fitness related he could get his hands on, Joe transferred to San Diego State University where he spent 3 years earning his bachelors of science in Kinesiology with an Emphasis in Fitness, Nutrition, and Health.
During his time at San Diego State Joe became certified in personal training by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and started his personal training career with 24 Hour Fitness in San Diego, CA. Joe was with 24 Hour Fitness for a about 1.5 years before he went out on his own for the first time, and became an independent trainer at the Aztec Recreation Center (the San Diego State on campus gym).
He continued to personal train at the Aztec Recreation Center for the duration of his time a San Diego State, and acquired his second personal training certification from the National Council on Strength & Fitness.
After completion of his degree, Joe moved to New York City (NYC) where he worked at The Sport Club/LA in Rockefeller Center for 2 years. While at The Sports Club/LA Joe rubbed shoulders with celebrities, and completed the highly respected Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Once he figure out there was a market for mobile personal training in NYC, Joe ventured out on his own, and spent 2 years traveling around NYC from apartment gym to apartment gym working with people of all ages and abilities. It wasn’t until Joe came back to his home town of Seattle, WA that he became involved with CrossFit coaching, and in August 2010 was certified as a CrossFit Level 1 Coach.
Shortly after that time Joe became a coach at StoneWay CrossFit in Seattle, WA where he continues to coach and train himself to this day. On an athletic note, over the years Joe has been a bodybuilder, 5 time ultra marathoner, 2 time Ironman, and is now heavily pursuing competitive CrossFit.
